14 Houston chefs, bars, and restaurants score James Beard nominations


Houston is once again well-represented among this year’s semifinalists for the James Beard Awards. The prestigious culinary awards, considered to be the Oscars of the food world, are awarded annually to chefs, bartenders, restaurateurs, authors, and more in a wide variety of categories. In all, Houston received 14 nominations on February 26. That’s up from last year, when the city earned 11 semifinalist nominations.
