New ranking of smartest cities puts Houston near back of the class


Houston sits toward the back of the class when it comes to the smartest metro areas in the U.S., according to a new study. In the study, published by personal finance website WalletHub, the Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land area ranks 90th among the most-educated metros. Houston home sales and prices saw modest increases in 2018

Homes sales in the Houston area ticked up between 2017 and 2018, a trend that spanned much of the state, according to the 2018 Texas Real Estate Year in Review report by Texas Realtors. In the Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land area, home sales increased 3.3 percent from 2017 to 87,129, and the median home price rose 3.1 percent to $235,000. Beloved Montrose coffee shop soars with new owner and ethical brews
