Day For Night organizer launches festival to celebrate BBQ and music


Day For Night organizer Omar Afra doesn’t just want to entertain Houstonians one weekend a year. On Thursday, Afra and partner Chris Wise announced a new event that will combine two Texas favorites: live music and barbecue. Dubbed The Great Texas BBQ Festival, the event will celebrate the best of Texas barbecue, music, and craft beer on April 21 and 22 at downtown’s Sam Houston Park. Here is when HISD will resume classes for the 2020-2021 school year

The wait is over for Houston parents, as the Houston Independent School District released its highly anticipated 2020-2021 schedule on Wednesday, July 15. Classes will start virtually on September 8, according to a letter sent to parents. The virtual instruction for all students will continue for six weeks through Friday, October 16.
